Golf Club at Capri Isles Since opening in March 1972, the Golf Club at Capri Isles has kept a commitment to providing quality golf for its members and guests. Now, 32 years of a fine golf tradition continues with a completely rebuilt 18-hole championship course. This semi-private course offers extraordinary value and is guaranteed to generate excitement for the serious, as well as the casual, lover of the game.

Architect Scott McBroom designed the new course with physical and psychological challenges that increase character and playability. The golfer’s initial impression is that the course is more open and player friendly. The openness results from the elimination of the Eucalyptus trees that tightly bordered the old fairways.

Don’t be fooled, however. Almost 100,000 cubic yards of fill was added to the course and sculpted to offer a subtle rolling movement. The extension and addition of water in play; the shifting and reconfiguration of greens; the additional and repositioned bunkers; added yardage and four sets of tees create a true test of strategy, accuracy and skill.

Some of the more dramatic changes in play are: Yardage gained from the tees; a new par-3; rerouted layout; lakes and water in play or visibly menacing on 14 of the 18 holes. Some greens are elevated, some lowered and several are in a mini-stadium style; numerous hazards, including water, grass hollows, pot bunkers and contoured sand traps are on the fairways and around the greens. In addition, 127 palm trees were moved and 30 oak trees planted to enhance the strategy of play.
