Here is some great news for the average golfer - The Florida State Golf Association has announced the 2010 schedule for the FSGA one-day events.
Starting April 8, the FSGA one-day events will be held around the Bradenton/Sarasota, Ocala, Orlando and Tampa Bay area, visiting courses that include Black Diamond, The Concession, Sara Bay, TPC Tampa Bay, Innisbrook, Lake Jovita, Tampa Palms, The Ritz-Carlton (Bradenton), Golden Ocala and Southern Hills Plantation, just to name a few.
FSGA one-day participants can play where the pros play! There are 24 events from April 8 – Nov. 1 at the top courses in the state.
Events take place during the weekdays with morning shotgun starts.
The cost ranges from $45 to $95 per event and includes golf, use of a motorized cart, range balls, and prizes. Participants are allowed to create their own foursomes. Each event will be 18 holes of individual net stroke play within flights, with players playing to 100 percent of their course handicap.
The one-day events are open to amateur male golfers, and there is no age limit. Players will be grouped in one of three flights, “Under 50”, “50-64” or “65 and over.”

“It is a fantastic opportunity for golfers to play some of the best courses in the area,” said Steve Teachout, a 15-handicapper and a member at The Meadows. “I’ll look forward to playing The Concession.”
The Jack Nicklaus-Tony Jacklin designed course is located in East Manatee County and has received numerous accolades from leading national golf magazines. In the past, only members and their guests were permitted to play the course.
Players are required to have a FSGA/GHIN handicap of 24.0 or less. However, golfers who do not have a FSGA/GHIN handicap index may compete after they obtain a handicap online for $30.
At each event gift certificates will be awarded to the top finishers in each flight. Players without an established handicap will be eligible to compete, but not for prizes.
