A Quickie Tip
Almost half of all putts are short putts (within 6 feet of the hole), so it’s very important to make a very high percentage of putts inside of three feet, and a good percentage (70%) from four to six feet.
However, our Pelz Golf Institute Research indicates that mid- to high-handicap amateurs save more strokes by eliminating three putts than by working on improving their short putting. A three-putt may result from missing a short one you should make, so it’s a good idea to focus on both areas.
