This Week’s Tournament is the Best Reason to Like Tiger

Tiger Woods talking about the AT&T NationalSome people like Tiger Woods for different reasons.

He got kicked off driving ranges when he was a junior golfer because of the color of his skin, and then went on to become one of the greatest golfers of all-time.

He makes more putts with the tournament on the line than anyone since Jack Nicklaus.

He works very hard on his game and physical condition and is rarely out of contention in any major tournament.

However, those are not the reasons I like him.

I am a Tiger Woods fan is because I think he is sincere in raising the awareness of what the U.S. military means to this country with his tournament (AT&T National) this weekend in Washington, D.C.

When Woods says he won’t allow us to forget what American troops are doing every day for our well being, as a Vietnam vet, I have to admire and salute him.

Happy Fourth of July weekend.
